The Dalai Lama’s Residence:Dharamsala India

The Dalai Lama lives outside of town in McLeod Ganj. In addition to the large number of Buddhist temples and shrines, there also some important Hindu religious buildings, including Jawalamukhi and Baijnath temples.

The Residence: The Dalai Lama’s Residence, also known as the Tsuglagkhang Complex, serves as the spiritual and administrative headquarters of the Tibetan government-in-exile. Nestled in the peaceful hills of McLeod Ganj, this complex houses the main temple, the residence of the Dalai Lama, and various other important buildings.

As you enter the complex, a sense of tranquility envelopes you. The air is filled with the aroma of incense, and the sounds of chanting prayers echo through the halls. The main temple, Tsuglagkhang, is the heart of the complex. Adorned with vibrant murals, intricate Tibetan artwork, and statues of Buddhist deities, the temple exudes a sense of reverence and serenity.
